What do I need to do to be saved?
Acknowledge Our Need for a Savior
The Bible makes it clear that all people have fallen short of God’s perfect standard and need salvation.
Scripture: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
Scripture: "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
Believe in Jesus Christ
The central requirement for salvation is placing your faith in who Jesus is and what He accomplished through His death and resurrection.
Scripture: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).
Scripture: "Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
Repent and Turn to God
Repentance is a sincere change of heart and mind about sin, leading to a turning away from sin and toward God.
Scripture: "Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out" (Acts 3:19).
Scripture: "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance" (2 Peter 3:9).

The Salvation Prayer
If you believe these truths, you can express your faith to God through prayer. A simple prayer might be:
“Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that I need your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and that you raised Him from the dead. I turn from my sins now and place my trust in Jesus as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for the gift of eternal life. Amen.”

How Can I Become a Disciple of Christ?
Once you are saved, becoming a disciple is the lifelong pursuit of following Jesus’ teachings, imitating His life, and growing in intimacy with Him.
Follow the Great Commission
Jesus’ final command to His followers was to be intentional by teaching others and making new disciples.
Scripture: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19-20).
Live According to God’s Word (The Bible)
Discipleship is characterized by obedience to Jesus' teachings and allowing His Word to shape your life.
Scripture: "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:31-32).
Love Others as He Loved You
Love for God and love for people are the primary identifying markers of a true disciple.
Scripture: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another" (John 13:34-35).
We are all a work in progress, aiming to live and walk with Christ every day.
- Read and study your Bible daily to learn Jesus’ commands.
- Pray to communicate with God and build your relationship with Him.
- Find a local church for fellowship, teaching, baptism, and support (as mentioned in the Fifteenth Street mission statement).
- Share your faith with others, making disciples as you were discipled.
